Effective November 2020, Common Data Service has been renamed to Microsoft Dataverse.

Based on the terminology changes in Dataverse, customer feedback, and data from user research, effective March 2021, Microsoft have announced that they are updating some terminology in Power Apps portals to be more intuitive and make its usage more productive. We have listed some of the terminology updates below and they will be rolled out in updates to customers in the cloud in the short term.

Key terminology changes for portals

The following table lists key terminology changes in portals.

Legacy term Current term
Entity form Basic form
Web form Advanced form
Entity list List
Entity permission Table permission
Entity Name Table Name

We think this is a good update. We have often thought Entity Form and Web Form could be clearer when producing pages for customers, so it’s good that they’ve decided to simplify this to be less ambiguous. If you would like to see the full list of terminology changes to Dynamics 365 Portals, you can see them on the Microsoft Documentation website.
